Reasons to join our lofoten photography tour
Best Place in Norway
Lofoten is one of the best places in Norway for landscape photography. Renowned for its dramatic and diverse scenery, you can photograph the rugged mountain peaks of Lilandstinden and Olstinden, the pristine beaches and charming fishing villages of Hamnoy and Reine, and the iconic red rorbuer fisherman cabins by the water’s edge that line the coast of western Lofoten. This part of Norway is simply breathtaking
The Northern Lights
As Lofoten lies just within the Arctic Circle, it’s an ideal location to photograph the magical Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) during the winter months. There is no better feeling than capturing these dancing colours in the night sky.
Lofoten’s colourful cabins sitting by the water’s edge back by rugged mountain backdrops, often snow-covered, make a truly unique picture of the northern lights.
Charming Fishing Villages
Lofoten’s traditional fishing villages offer wonderful picturesque scenes with colorful wooden houses, fishing boats, and scenic harbors to photograph. Hamnoy and Reine are particularly photogenic with soaring mountain peaks in their backdrop. These places look great in both winter and autumn.
An Amazing Coastline
It may be hard to believe, but Lofoten boasts some of the most beautiful white sandy beaches in Norway. Haukland, Skagsanden, Myrland, Flakstad and Uttakleiv are just some that are perfect for seascape photography.
Because of the time of year, the scenery is beautifully lit from the low position of the sun from dawn until dusk, giving us plenty of time to maximise the photographic opportunities.
