Slovenia Winter Photography Workshop
Slovenia presents extraordinary photographic opportunities across diverse landscapes, from towering peaks reaching nearly 9,500 feet to pristine alpine environments. The dramatic mountain ranges create some of Europe's most compelling scenery, featuring sharp ridgelines, dense forest coverage, traditional wooden structures, and crystal-clear lakes that mirror the surrounding peaks perfectly.
Winter transforms this already spectacular region into a photographer's paradise. Snow-covered landscapes create a magical atmosphere, offering pristine conditions for capturing stunning winter imagery. The contrast between snow-laden peaks, frosted forests, and icy lakes provides exceptional opportunities for memorable landscape photography during this intensive winter workshop experience.
Workshop Details
This comprehensive five-night winter photography workshop provides extensive opportunities to develop your skills under expert guidance. You'll receive personalized instruction tailored to your experience level and photographic goals.
Our base is a charming, traditional guesthouse in Lesce, adjacent to the renowned town of Bled. This prime location minimizes travel time to key photographic destinations, maximizing your time behind the camera rather than in transit.
We will collect all the workshop participants from Ljubljana Airport at 1pm on Monday 16th February 2026
Here is a detailed itinerary outlining our schedule. While the itinerary looks fixed, it is really only an indication of the locations we will be visiting and the decision to alter our plans depending on the weather and light will be taken if needed.
Day 1 - Monday 16th February 2026
Ljubljana Airport - Lesce
We will collect the workshop participants at 1pm from Ljubljana airport in Slovenia on Monday 16th February 2026. Once everybody is collected, we shall head to our guesthouse in Lesce, before capturing sunset at the nearby iconic Lake Bled. The evening will be spent getting to know each other over good food in a local restaurant.
Day 2 to Day 5 - Tuesday 17th - Friday 20th February 2026
There is no fixed itinerary on this workshop as we aim to match up the best photography locations with the weather predicted.
We aim to be out on location shooting sunrises every morning, ensuring that we are in position to capture the best subjects pre-dawn. Breakfast will either be taken in the guesthouse after sunrise or where required, on the road in the form of a packed breakfast courtesy of the guesthouse. We will be out shooting sunsets before heading back to the guesthouse to relax before eating out in local restaurants.
Day 6 - Saturday 21st February 2026
Lesce - Ljubljana Airport
Check out of the guest house is 8am to allow us to travel just 30 minutes down the road to Ljubljana Airport followed by the flight home to reflect on what will be an amazing photography tour. Having spent three months in Slovenia October 2020 - December 2020, take it from us when we say, that Slovenia will have you leave a piece of your heart somewhere in the country and experiences like that takes some beating. We hope you can join us.

Chris Frost
Chris discovered his passion for photography later in life, sparked during a honeymoon trip to Japan and cemented in 2012 when he first picked up a landscape camera. Drawn to the genre’s blend of beauty, drama, and creative challenge, he quickly developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and the stories it reveals through light and weather.
Living just moments from Dorset’s iconic Jurassic Coast, Chris initially focused on capturing its wild, untamed seascapes, scenes shaped by dynamic tides, shifting skies, and rugged geology. In more recent years, this love for stormy coastlines has been balanced by an equal fascination with Dorset’s quieter side: its hidden woodlands, delicate seasonal displays, and atmospheric treescapes.
Specialising in evocative images of the South West, Chris brings a unique blend of patience, technical understanding, and artistic intuition to his work. His distinctive style has earned national recognition, including winning UK Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2020 and placing runner-up in the Wildflowers category of the International Garden Photographer of the Year. Today, he shares his knowledge and passion through guiding, helping photographers of all levels capture the landscapes they’ve always dreamed of.
