Reasons to join our Venice photography tour
Gondolas on the Grand Canal
The Grand Canal at blue hour and sunrise offers Venice’s best moments for photographing the moored gondolas. The early morning stillness, free from crowds, is the ideal time to capture these shots. Long exposures transform the rippling water into glass-like smoothness while street lights create the perfect blend of ambient and artificial light.
The Canals
Venice’s canals reveal the city’s intimate charm, especially in the soft light of early morning or late afternoon. These narrow waterways wind between ancient buildings, weathered facades and ornate balconies. The golden hour light filters through the narrow passages, illuminating the moored boats and hanging lanterns which add layers of visual interest.
The Bridges
There are over 400 bridges connecting the islands across the intricate network of canals. Throughout the historic centre, you’ll photograph some of the most beautiful and photogenic, including the legendary Bridge of Sighs and the grand Rialto Bridge. These elegant structures, ranging from simple stone crossings to ornate masterpieces, provide stunning vantage points and compelling photographic subjects in their own right.
Best of Venice
Throughout this four-day workshop, we’ll capture Venice’s most iconic scenes and hidden treasures. From the magnificent expanse of Piazza San Marco to the vibrant houses of Burano, each location offers unique photographic possibilities.
